Oracle Winterguard Historic Record:

Mission Statement:
Oracle Winter Guard strives to be the best venue for winter color guard in Colorado. We are ambassadors of excellence in behavior, performance, and achievement. We exist to foster positive life experiences for all who participate, by promoting education, creativity and freedom of expression through pageantry and performing arts. Through SCFD funding, we can continue our activities and present new and challenging programs to the audiences. We lead and entertain the audiences, which are often comprised of high school students. There was a niche to be filled by college-aged performers setting an example for the younger crowd. This is the audience we reach, in addition to the adults who support the activity regardless. By existing and presenting new programs each year, we establish a renewable audience and member base.
History:
Oracle Winter Guard formed on November 11, 1997. The organization brought together Rob Billings as designer and choreographer, William Chumley as Director, and Roger Saint Vincent as staff member. There were initially 13 performers and six performances. The initial intent was to bring distinctive, hand-painted sets, props, flags, and costumes to the Colorado population. Rob and William began Oracle Winter Guard to ensure there was a place for young people to succeed and continually grow. The winter guard performs 8-10 times throughout the winter months bringing its pageantry and effectiveness to the public.
